What this app accesses, and why

SEO Doctor AI is a Shopify app that audits and fixes on-page SEO (meta titles/descriptions, image ALT text, structured data, broken links) and compresses product images. To do that, it reads and, where you approve a fix, writes the following store data via the Shopify Admin API: products, collections, pages, blog articles, their images/media, and basic shop information (domain, currency, timezone). It does not access customer records, orders, or payment information — none of Shopify's customer- or order-level data scopes are requested.

Third-party services this app uses

• OpenAI — when you request an AI-generated meta title, description, or image ALT text, the relevant product/page text (and, for ALT text, the image itself) is sent to OpenAI's API to generate a suggestion. OpenAI does not use this data to train its models under its API terms.
• Google Search Console — only if you explicitly connect it from the Search Console tab. We store an OAuth refresh token to read search performance data (clicks, impressions, ranking position) for the property you choose. We never request write access, and you can disconnect at any time, which deletes the stored token immediately.
• Bing / Yandex (via IndexNow) — when a fix is applied, the affected page's URL is submitted to the shared IndexNow protocol so search engines can recrawl it sooner. No store content is sent, only the URL.

Where data is stored

Store data, scan results, and settings are stored in a Postgres database hosted on Neon, in the United States. Data is never sold or shared with third parties for advertising or marketing purposes.

Data retention and deletion

If you uninstall the app, your store is immediately marked inactive and stops being scanned. In line with Shopify's mandatory privacy webhooks, your store's data is fully and permanently deleted from our database 48 hours after uninstall. This app does not store any customer-level personal data, so there is nothing to export or erase in response to a customer data request.
